Electron Microscopy

Electron Microscopy facility located in the UTRGV Science Building is equipped with a Zeiss LEO 900 transmission electron microscope, EVO LS10 STEM, and supportive equipment for electron microscope work, including an Ultra-cut microtome, knife maker, critical point drier, and sputter coater. The STEM is attached with EDS X-ray microanalyzer, which provides capacity of elemental analysis. Both TEM and STEM produce high quality of digital images with a resolving power of 10 nm.

The department has recently acquired other types of microscopes such as the confocal microscope.
