Teaching Philosophy

Every student deserves a committed teacher that is willing to guide them towards academic success.  I view my role as an educator as an opportunity to create an inclusive and equitable learning experience while keeping courses aligned to student learning outcomes.  My students come from diverse backgrounds and have different learning styles.  My class supplies multiple perspectives of the material being presented and various assessments for students to demonstrate mastery of concepts.  My goal is to make learning meaningful so that it sticks.  For learning to be meaningful, students need to connect course topics to their personal lives and future careers.  An instructor is like a bridge that facilitates the transition from student to professional.
