How to Apply for Reservation of Graduate Credit by Undergraduate Students
It is possible for UTRGV undergraduate students to enroll in up to six hours of graduate (master's) courses in their last semester of their undergraduate degree.
Eligibility Criteria
Before you apply, ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Credit Hours Remaining: You must have no more than 12 hours left to complete your first bachelor’s degree.
- Completion Timeline: These remaining hours must be completed within the same semester or in two six-week summer sessions in which you are taking the graduate courses.
- Enrollment Limits: Your total enrollment must not exceed 15 semester hours during a regular semester or 12 semester hours across two six-week summer sessions.
- Graduation Requirement: You must be graduating in the same semester you intend to take graduate courses.
- GPA Requirement: You must have a minimum graduate admission GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Form Submission: You must submit the Reservation of Graduate Credit by Undergraduate Students Form to the Graduate Admissions team.

Important Notes
- Graduate course credits cannot be applied to your undergraduate degree. These credits will be reserved for your future graduate degree.
- Undergraduate students are not permitted to enroll in graduate accelerated online courses.
