The Fast-Track 4+1 program allows high achieving students to earn both a baccalaureate and a master's degree in 5 years. All participants complete at least 30 hours of graduate credit to earn the graduate degree. A portion (up to 12 hours) of the graduate coursework also counts toward graduation requirements at the bachelor's level, following a dual-enrollment model like that available for high-school/college dual enrollment.

Admission Requirements
- Students must be working toward a baccalaureate degree. Students coming in with a bachelor’s degree are not eligible for the fast-track program.
- Students must have completed 90 hours toward the bachelor’s degree prior to admission into the fast-track program, with at least 30 hours earned at UTRGV.
- Students must have completed foundational, benchmark or other key courses in the program as determined by the program faculty.
- Students must submit an official fast-track application to the program through the Graduate Admissions application linked below.
- Students must meet the grade point average requirements established by the program. This may include an overall institutional GPA requirement and/or a discipline-specific GPA. The overall institutional GPA set by the program will not be lower than 3.5 but may be higher. The discipline-specific GPA will not be lower than 3.25 but may be higher. The discipline-specific GPA may be derived from the major or the GPA in foundational, benchmark or other key courses in identified by the program faculty. The program's admission GPA requirements will be published on the respective graduate program page.
Application
Students interested in pursuing a Fast Track program must complete the Fast Track application at www.utrgv.edu/gradapply. Once a student meets all the program admission requirements, the Graduate Admissions team will track the student's progress with a unique code until the bachelor's degree is conferred. Thereafter, the student will be admitted as a new graduate student to the master's program.

The following programs have been approved to accept fast-track students. Admitted fast-track students are permitted to apply the following graduate courses towards their undergraduate degree.
NOTE: Students cannot register for any graduate accelerated online courses while completing the fast-track program.
