Welcome back to UTRGV!

If you have previously attended a graduate program at UTRGV but have not enrolled for a while, you may need to reapply to continue your education in the same graduate program. Here's how you can restart your journey with us:

When to Reapply

You need to reapply if you:

  • Have not enrolled for two consecutive long semesters (Fall and Spring) in our traditional programs or
  • Have missed four consecutive modules in one of our accelerated online programs or
  • Did not enroll in the semester/module you were admitted to and do not have an approved deferral on file.

Application Process

To reapply, please visit www.utrgv.edu/gradapply and complete the application for the program where you were previously admitted and enrolled. It is crucial to answer "Yes" to the initial question on the application: "Have you previously been admitted and enrolled in this graduate program at UTRGV and are seeking readmission?" This will ensure your application is processed correctly for readmission.

Approval Process

Your reapplication will be reviewed by the program coordinator/director. Once a decision is made, you will be notified via email, and the decision will also be visible on your application portal. Please make sure to check both regularly to stay updated on your readmission status.

Additional Information

If you were on academic suspension during your last term, you will need to complete the full, formal application to the UTRGV graduate program and submit an academic appeal. More information about the appeal process, visit Academic Probation and Suspension page. Additionally, ensure that you submit all required admissions documents. This is necessary to evaluate your readiness to resume your studies and to ensure you meet current program standards.

If you have been out of the graduate program for more than five years, you are also required to submit the full application along with all admissions requirements.
