The Writing Center is dedicated to assisting UTRGV students of all classifications and disciplines in all stages of the writing process with the ultimate goal of making our students more efficient communicators, critical thinkers, and independent learners.
When most students think about what a visit to the writing center might consist of, they likely picture the individual consultation. At the UTRGV Writing Center, individual consultations are one-on-one meetings between a student and a peer tutor.
In addition to our tutoring services, the Writing Center has numerous resources to help you become a more effective writer and balanced student.

At the UTRGV Writing Center, you can meet one-on-one with a trained peer tutor to get help with any stage of your writing.
We offer 30-minute sessions that focus on:
Brainstorming, organizing, or developing your writing
Understanding assignments, audience, and genre
Tips for using and citing sources
Support with media (images, video, etc.) in your projects
Scheduling limits:
Up to 2 sessions per day (not back-to-back)
4 sessions per week
60 per semester First-time visitors may get priority during busy times.
