Reporting AD-RCMAR Activities
RGV AD-RCMAR Staff & Faculty may report activities weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. The monitoring of the activities will help us to evaluate our performance.
Our activities are classified as follow:
1. Research Facilitation
The Research Facilitation process involves the activities supported to provide guidance and facilitate the access to resources to enable the development of research projects focused on minority aging, particularly in Hispanics. Research facilitation activities include: Technical Assistance, Consultation, Mentoring, Networking & Information Sharing, Access & Development of Resources. 2. Training
Training involves the opportunities offered to scholars and/or RCMAR faculty to develop knowledge and/or skills to advance their research capabilities focused on aging and ADRD in minorities, particularly in Hispanics. Training will also include the training opportunities targeted to support the community efforts of our community partners. Training activities include a) Attendance to courses, workshops, professional conferences, conventions, and retreats, b) Participation in study circles, fieldwork activities. 3. Research
Research consists of the scientific activities leading to publications and presentations to further research projects focused on aging and ADRD in minorities, particularly in Hispanics. Research activities include IRB Approval, Paper publication, Poster presentation, Podium/Plenary presentation, Work in progress/Oral presentations, Project/proposals funded. 4. Communication & Dissemination
Communication & Dissemination involves the activities prepared to engage in a conversation with researchers and/or community focused on aging and ADRD in minorities, particularly in Hispanics. Communication & Dissemination activities include a) Website updates, b) Social media posts, c) Participation in scientific forums, community forums & topical workshops, d) Alzheimer’s Talks, e) Activities of Alzheimer’s Ambassadors, f) Participation in interviews for newspapers, radio or TV. 5. Community-Academic Partnerships (CAPs)
These are activities aimed at establishing and maintaining the CAPs at the RGV AD-RCMAR. These activities are mainly intended to support our partners community efforts. RGV AD-RCMAR will establish and maintain CAPs with the purpose of support the recruitment and retention of older urban and rural Hispanics and their families for research studies. The activities include: a) Listening sessions, b) Collecting data of demography and health, c) Technical assistance, c) Consultation, d) Community Reviews, e) Sessions for delivery of information and feedback, f) Networking and information sharing, g) Access & development of resources.
