Sign up for Orientation

To sign up for UTRGV New Student Orientation you must be admitted as an incoming freshman (first-time in college) or transfer student and have activated your UTRGV email address.

When can I sign up?

The dates you see on the reservation system are the ones available to you.

What happens if I don't sign up?

  • New Student Orientation is mandatory for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
  • You can't register for classes if you don't attend orientation.

How do I reserve my Orientation Session?

  • Eligible students receive an email from New Student Orientation to their UTRGV email account.
  • Follow the instructions once the reservations system becomes available;
  • or, by clicking on the "Sign up for Orientation" button below.

FRESHMAN ORIENTATION

For students graduating/who have graduated from High School who have not enrolled in an institution of higher education after graduation.

Vaccination

Provide documentation for Bacterial Meningitis

All new students under the age of 22 must submit evidence of receiving the bacterial meningitis vaccination (administered within the past five years) before they can enroll. Students will not be allowed to register without providing proof of meningitis vaccination or exemption. Please bring documentation to your scheduled orientation session for review.

UTRGV will have a limited number of vaccines available at each orientation session. The cost of the vaccine will be added to your student bill.

Orientation Fee

A $75.00 non-refundable, non-transferable orientation fee will be added to your student account 24 hours after your reservation. Cancellation is required at least three days before your date, or you will be charged the orientation fee. Students who do not attend orientation but enroll in classes will still be charged the New Student Orientation fee and will be responsible for completing the orientation requirement.
