The primary jurisdiction includes the Central Campus, UTRGV Coastal Lab on South Padre Island, the Academic Support Annex in Edinburg, McAllen Teaching Center, Starr County Campus, and properties throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Eligibility for Services
To receive services from UTRGV Student Accessibility Services (SAS), the student, according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), must have a physical or mental disability that substantially limits one or more major life activities. These disabilities can include learning, hearing, visual, psychiatric, psychological, health, and physical disabilities.
Students who experience a broken bone, or severe injury, or undergo surgery may be eligible for temporary services. Temporary services are provided for weeks, months, or the remainder of the semester, depending on the severity of the impairment.
To register for services, students must complete the New Student Registration form online at utrgv.edu/mysas.

The Counseling Center provides free and confidential counseling services to address mental health concerns and promote personal growth for currently enrolled UTRGV students.
Does counseling help?
Counseling helps people feel better and resolve problems such as depression, anxiety, sleep difficulty, and other emotional or behavioral difficulties. For college students, counseling helps with emotional adjustment and is associated with improving academic performance.
Who provides counseling services?
Counseling services are provided by licensed mental health professionals or graduate-level interns supervised by a licensed counselor.

The Vaqueros Crisis Line is a 24/7 confidential* helpline for enrolled UTRGV students experiencing an emotional crisis that may include suicidal thinking, thoughts of harming themselves or others, confusion, panic, or otherwise feeling distressed.
