About International Study Programs

Vision

International Study Programs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will capitalize on the vast expertise, knowledge, and skills of its administrators, faculty, and staff to become the leader in global education and research in South Texas in order to reengineer graduates and local, national, and international communities to be competent, engaging, and well-equipped with practical global imperatives.

Mission

To facilitate the strategic engagement of the colleges, schools, centers, departments, programs, and units with partners across the world to integrate a multicultural and multilingual prominence into the nation’s premier Hispanic Serving Institution by promoting and enhancing the UTRGV worldwide brand, reputation, and visibility related to:

  • global educational instruction,
  • scholarly research, and
  • experiential learning

in-and outside the classroom, in order to graduate world-class, cross-culturally diverse, and competent individuals.
