Hooding Ceremony
The Human Development and School Services have presented over the years our Hooding Ceremony. This intimate setting is designed where professors, friends, and family members get together to celebrate the student’s academic accomplishments. Our institution of higher education carries out this event in order to recognize our students who have earned an advanced degree beyond their bachelors.
The student’s regalia (cap and grown) are part of this ceremony for participating in the hooding ceremony. No student will be permitted to participate in the hooding ceremony without this proper regalia. Academic regalia may be adorned with stoles, ribbons, and other decoration associated with the student’s experiences at UTRGV.
You can purchase your regalia from our bookstore, by calling them to place the order. Please make sure to order it at least a month an advance to make sure you get it on time. The department has already spoken to the bookstore for our online students to order them over the phone or through e-mail.
