Session Types

Plan your day at the Engaged Scholar Symposium (ES2) by learning about the kinds of presentations offered. To see guidelines for presenters, visit our Presentation Guidelines.

Poster Sessions

Poster Sessions will be held in a large room for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During this time, attendees are welcome to walk around and engage with presenters. Posters will be labeled in the program by an assigned number, which will be displayed chronologically. Judges will be also evaluating posters during this time, so we ask that attendees politely allow presenters and judges to interact to ensure all competing posters are able to be judged.

Talk or Oral Presentations

Each Oral Presentation Session will have three to five individual presentations. Each individual presentation is allotted 20 minutes, including time for questions. Session Moderators will introduce each presenter, provide technical assistance as needed, and maintain time.

Art Gallery

Art Gallery Sessions may include visual art, such as pottery, paintings, or graphic design. Attendees are welcome to "Meet the Artist" from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm in Edinburg on April 21.

Performances

Performances highlight music, film, dance, and theatre productions and range in durations from 5 to 20 minutes.
