What is the Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Sciences (BSIHS)?
The Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Sciences (BSIHS) is a 120-hour program designed to prepare graduates to obtain an entry-level position as a health science professional ready to work in a variety of settings, including community health agencies, business and educational organizations, public health departments, nursing homes, retirement residences, home health agencies, wellness and fitness centers, schools, hospitals, medical group practices, insurance companies, alcohol and drug treatment programs, and others.
The BSIHS serves as the academic foundation for competitive undergraduate healthcare pathways within the Division of Health Affairs. These programs require a secondary admission application and include:
- School of Nursing
- Department of Medical Laboratory Science
- Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

Lastly, this is a dynamic program that can be used to fulfill the requirements for most health-related professional graduate programs. Students will earn a bachelor's degree and have the flexibility within the major to complete most, if not all, prerequisite requirements for admission to many health-related professional graduate programs, including the Physician Assistant Program, Occupational Therapy Program, Physical Therapy Program, School of Medicine, dentistry, and more.
