About
Dr. Rahmaninezhad joined the Department of Civil Engineering in 2021 as an Assistant Professor, bringing over 5 years of industry experience as a geotechnical engineer. He was honored with the 2017 Practice-Ready Paper Award by the Transportation Research Board (TRB), received the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) Fellowship in 2018, and was awarded with the 2019 Sweet-Sixteen High-Value Research Award from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). Currently, Dr. Rahmaninezhad holds the Chair of the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the Geo-Institute (G-I), member of TRB's Transportation Earthwork standing committee, and editorial board member for the journal Frontier in Civil Engineering. Additionally, he contributes as a member of the University Transportation Center for Railway Safety (UTCRS).
