About
Dr. An joined the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) as an assistant professor in Fall 2023. He received his PhD and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida and the University of Texas at Austin, respectively. Before joining UTRGV, Dr. An was an Assistant Professor at the University of Mount Union. He is passionate about advancing sustainable, multifunctional infrastructure materials. His primary research interests lie in the areas of concrete materials and structural engineering. Dr. An has over 50 publications and was the lead author of 21 of the peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. His research has been funded by DOTs, ASCE, UMU and KRRI etc. Dr. An serves several professional organizations such as ASCE, ACI, ASEE, KSEA, KGS-NA and TRB.
