About
The University of Texas System created the Texas-Mexico Border Health Coordination Office (TMBHCO) in 1990 in response to recommendations from a task force of representatives from health-related UT System institutions and other university, state, and community agencies that continue to guide the office's activities. Since 2002, our office has been known as The University of Texas-Pan American Border Health Office (UTPA BHO). Our office offers ways to: collaborate with community-based organizations to promote health services and education, provide technical assistance to communities and institutions, and sponsor health education efforts including conferences and workshops.
The UTRGV Border Health Office offers various programs that enhance efforts to further the university's goals of becoming an outstanding research institution, emphasizing collaborative partnerships and entrepreneurship, enhancing the university's engagement with the community to meet challenges and maximize opportunities, as well as infusing Inter-American and global perspectives throughout the University community.
