Visit Campus

Your presence on campus can build your organization’s reputation as an engaged employer seeking to hire UTRGV applicants. Employer events are a great way for your organization to connect with UTRGV students. Let the Career Center assist you in planning, scheduling, and advertising your recruitment events on campus.

Meet students where they are. Join us at either one of our campuses, and take the next step in your recruiting strategy.

If you are looking to interview recent or upcoming graduates, interns, or co-operative education students, we can assist you with on-campus interviewing arrangements. Interviews are coordinated through Handshake to pre-schedule interview dates, target students that meet your selection criteria, and fill interview timeslots. Schedules can be requested via Handshake with guidance from the Career Center. To request information about On-Campus Interviews, contact Ronnie Garcia at ronnie.garcia@utrgv.edu.

Handshake Trainings:

Boost your brand recognition among students with Information Sessions and Visibility Tables. Meet informally with students to promote and build excitement about your organization and upcoming opportunities.

Information Sessions:

Information Sessions provide an opportunity for employers to meet informally with students to promote awareness and build excitement about your organization outside of formal recruiting events and on-campus interviews. Info sessions can be held virtually or in-person, on-campus, or off-campus. Reservations for in-person, on-campus info sessions depend on space availability.

Information Tables:

Information tables are typically in high-traffic student spaces throughout campus or in a college. Most information tables rely on students passing by as their audience, and any additional promotion of the table is in the hands of the employer. The Employer Relations team will provide you feedback on high-traffic areas around campus that will target the students you’re looking for.

To host an information session or information table, please complete the On-Campus Recruitment form. After completing this form, a Career Center staff member will review and respond with next steps.

Offer your information session virtually. Virtual information sessions have gained popularity and allow you to reach a broader group of students from the comfort of your office or home. Allow us to help you connect with the right population of students through Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Popular virtual sessions include general information session (company overview and opportunities), skills labs, and panels.

To request your virtual event, please complete the On-Campus Recruitment Form.

Build relationships with faculty/researchers working across a broad range of disciplines: Robert C. Vackar eCollege of Business and Entrepreneurship, College of Education, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Fine Arts, College of Health Professions, College of Sciences, and College of Liberal Arts.

The Career Center can assist with coordinating meetings with faculty, department chairs and college deans to introduce your organization, work culture, desired candidate qualifications and recruiting style.
