Career Closet
Career Closet is an initiative started by the Career Center that allows currently enrolled UTRGV students to submit a request form and receive up to 5 new or used professional garments per semester which they may use during interviews, career fairs, and networking events. The closet items were donated by faculty, staff, alumni, and other professionals to help reduce the financial costs associated with starting a career as a young professional.
What Sizes are Available?
We aim to provide a variety of sizes and styles, but due to limited resources, we cannot guarantee the availability of all sizes and styles. To make sure you get priority, it is best to submit the request form as soon as possible, as availability is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Do I Have to Pay?
No, as long as you are a currently enrolled student at UTRGV, the items are free of charge and do not need to be returned.
What Requirements are Necessary for Access to Career Closet?
You must be a currently enrolled UTRGV student and submit a request form with your contact information, desired garment type, size, and the date you wish to pick it up.
What Are Hours of Career Closet Operation?
Monday through Friday between 8:00 am-5:00 pm, depending on staff availability.
Do UTRGV Alumni Get Access to the Career Closet?
Yes, UTRGV alum have access to the Career Closet.
Can I Donate?
We are still accepting clothing donations!
If you would like to donate, please contact careercenter@utrgv.edu
The Career Center can schedule a time with you to collect the clothing or drop off times at either campus. (We are in particular need of men’s clothing).
When donating, please consider the following:
• All clothing must be clean and free of stains, tears, rips, or obvious malfunctions
• Clothing must be professional and interview appropriate.
