Recruiting Interns

Internships are structuredsupervised, and short-term programs in which undergraduate or graduate students perform tasks and duties within an organization in order to gain knowledge and skills. They are mutually beneficial experiences, giving organizations fresh perspectives, innovation solutions, and new talent, while providing students with career related skills. If you are interested in recruiting a UTRGV intern, utilize the steps below to get started.

Getting Started:

  1. Develop a job description for your internship position, identifying learning objectives and clear goals for achievement. Keep in mind that 50% or more of the intern's tasks should be career-related or industry-focused.
  2. Review our Internship Listing Agreement and Internship Guidelines to ensure your position meets UTRGV recruitment and approval policies.
  3. Post your internship in Handshake. All internship postings will be reviewed for approval by Career Center staff.

To discuss a more tailored recruiting plan, we encourage you to schedule a Employer Recruiting Consultation with our Employer Engagement team.

Additional Experiential Learning Opportunities

Sponsor a short term project through our Micro-Internship program in partnership with Parker Dewey. These are 2-3 week projects (sometimes shorter) where students can help tackle problems that you are facing within your business or organization.

Serve as a Career Mentor through VaqueroConnect (powered by PeopleGrove). VaqueroConnect allows alumni or employer partners to connect with UTRGV students for career-related mentoring.
