Admission Requirements

You are a readmit applicant if you are a former UTRGV or UT Pan-American student still seeking your first bachelor's degree, even if you have enrolled at another college or university since you last attended UTRGV or UTPA.

Effective fall 2017, former UTB/TSC students who have not attended UTRGV previously, or those who have had a one-year break in UTRGV enrollment, will be admitted to UTRGV as transfer students. Please visit the Transfer page for further details.

Service members or reservists who have a break in attendance due to service requirements will be readmitted to the institution and academic program enrolled prior to the required service. No additional application or documentation is required. Please email admissions@utrgv.edu with your semester of enrollment.

Cost

UTRGV has one of the lowest costs of attendance in the state of Texas. Our tuition is the 2nd lowest in the UT System and the 3rd lowest among all Texas public universities. We guarantee your tuition will not increase for 4 years. (View all Cost of Attendance components)

Submit Your Application

  • Fill out your UTRGV Readmit application online at applytexas.org.
  • If you attended other institutions after you last enrolled at UTRGV or submitted unofficial/in-progress transcripts when you last attended UTRGV, you will need to submit official college transcripts to the office of Undergraduate Admissions before classes begin.

Application Dates

Returning students are encouraged to complete their application for readmissions by the recommended priority date. Note, returning student applications are still accepted and processed after the priority dates for each semester.

This is your Vaquero lifeline. All information regarding your classes, student accounts, announcements, and more will come to your UTRGV email address. Visit utrgv.edu/myaccount to activate your account today!
Provide Documentation for Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine toggle open accordion 
Beginning Spring 2014, all new students under the age of 22 must submit evidence of receiving the bacterial meningitis vaccine or booster shot (administered within the past five years) or evidence of exemption before they can enroll.
Check on your Financial Aid and Scholarships Awards toggle open accordion 
Make sure you stay up to date with your financial aid. Whether it’s a grant, scholarship or other financial awards, this is really important information to make sure you pay your tuition and fees on time.
Schedule your Academic Advisement Appointment toggle open accordion 
We invite you to schedule an optional Academic Advisement session where you'll be able to review your degree plan with an advisor as degree requirements could have changed since you last enrolled.
Review your Holds toggle open accordion 
Make sure to clear any previous and current holds that might prevent you from registering for your courses. Log into ASSIST or ask your Academic Advisor for assistance.
Send us any College Credit you’ve Earned toggle open accordion 
If you attended another institution after your last enrollment at UTRGV or submitted unofficial/in-progress transcripts when you last attended UTRGV, you are required to submit an official college transcript from that institution before classes begin.
Make Arrangements for On-Campus Housing toggle open accordion 
If you plan to live on campus, make sure you fill out all the appropriate forms and submit the necessary deposits before the deadline.
