Summer Program

The summer program, spanning seven weeks in June and July, is hosted at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Students attend Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. – 5:50 p.m. The regular classes are held Monday through Thursday, and on Friday students have weekly project competitions and guest speakers.

In the weekly projects students are divided into small groups to work on a project from Monday through Thursday to compete on Fridays. Projects include: water rockets, bridge building, mousetrap cars, catapults, and more.

Students participate in a mega project competition which is a large-scale engineering project that begins in the fall semester, continues during the seven week summer program, and ends with an exciting competition on the last day of the summer program. Students are also rewarded with an eventful day of fun, food, and games during the last week of the program.
