Couples Counseling

Couples who are both 18 years of age or older, may receive relationship counseling if they are both currently enrolled at UTRGV. Relationship concerns may include a wide range of issues such as:

  • Adjusting to medical school demands in a relationship
  • Making decisions about readiness to make a commitment
  • Renegotiating expectations and roles
  • Parenting conflicts
  • Communication difficulties
  • Managing a separation or divorce

Couple’s counseling helps partners recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationship. Through counseling, couples can make thoughtful decisions about rebuilding and strengthening their relationship, or parting ways.

Relationship counseling is available for mixed-gender couples, same-sex couples, or roommates. Premarital, marital, and divorce counseling services are also available.
