Moving to the Valley?
Welcome to the Rio Grade valley, which is not a valley but an alluvial floodplain and ancient delta of the Rio Grande. The largest cities are Brownsville, Edinburg, Harlingen, and McAllen. Agriculture, tourism, and education are main drivers of the economy of the RGV, and the area benefits from mild, sub-tropical weather most of the year. Students and staff coming from other parts of Texas or from out of state may be unfamiliar with the RGV. One of the best ways to find information not available on websites is to speak with other students!
