Cooperative Programs

The mission of the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences is to provide students a unique integrative education and training experience that prepares them to meet the challenges and opportunities in the multiple dimensions of contemporary earth, environmental and marine sciences. To do so, SEEMS faculty have established connections with many organizations to collaborate through cooperative programs.

Faculty Research

Research by SEEMS faculty, staff, and students is transdisciplinary and covers a broad range of topics in Earth, environmental, and marine sciences. Particular strengths within our department include the following research topics:  Agriculture and Food Systems, Climate Science, Conservation Science, Earth Science, Ecology, Ecosystem Processes, Environment and Sustainability, and Marine and Coastal Sciences.

Funded Research

The mission of the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences is to provide students a unique integrative education and training experience that prepares them to meet the challenges and opportunities in the multiple dimensions of contemporary earth, environmental and marine sciences. To do so, SEEMS faculty have achieved success in acquiring funding from a variety of sources to support ongoing research of faculty and students.

Publications

SEEMS faculty and students share their research publicly through publication in peer-reviewed journals, books, and other resources. Each year, dozens of articles co-authored by SEEMS faculty and students are published.  A selection of recent publications, since 2020, are compiled on our Publications page.  Complete literature cited are available through each faculty's UTRGV faculty Profile page.
