What to Report to Us

In accordance with and to the extent provided by applicable state and federal laws and regulations, it is the policy of UTRGV that no person will be denied employment with or admission to UTRGV, or otherwise be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any program or activity sponsored or conducted by UTRGV, on the basis of:

  • age
  • color
  • disability
  • gender expression
  • gender identity
  • genetic information
  • national origin
  • race
  • religion
  • sex
  • sexual orientation
  • veteran status

Sexual misconduct in any form (including sexual violence) is also not tolerated.

Retaliation against individuals who oppose discriminatory practices, file a charge or complaint of discrimination, or testify for, assist in, or participate in an investigative proceeding relating to discrimination is also prohibited under this policy.

If you feel that you have been victimized because of your membership in a protected class, you should report the matter to the Office of Title IX & Equal Opportunity (OTIXEO).

All necessary accommodations will be made to complainants to ensure that the action in question will cease throughout the investigative process and until resolution has been made.
