UTRGV Title IX Responsible EmployeeWhat is a Title IX Responsible Employee?

A UTRGV Responsible Employee must report incidents of sexual misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator or other appropriate designee.

Responsible employees include all administrators, faculty and supervisory staff, resident life directors and advisors, and graduate teaching assistants, except any individual who works or volunteers in the Office of Advocacy and Violence Prevention and employee with confidentiality obligations as defined within ADM 03-300: Sexual Misconduct policy.

Who is a Title IX Responsible Employee?

All employees except those with confidentiality privileges under ADM 03-300: Sexual Misconduct must report to the Office of Title IX & Equal Opportunity (OTIXEO). Title IX Responsible Employees include, but are not limited to:

  • Academic Advisors
  • Assistant Directors
  • Associate Deans
  • Associate Directors
  • Coaches
  • Deans
  • Department Chairs
  • Department Heads
  • Directors
  • Faculty
  • Managers
  • Medical Residents
  • Resident Advisors
  • Supervisors
  • Teaching Assistants and Graduate Assistants
  • University Administrators
  • Others depending on role

What do you report as a Title IX Responsible Employee?

We have a duty to report all forms of sexual misconduct promptly to a Title IX Coordinator and cannot be confidential resources.
