Hiram Diaz

H. Joseph Diaz is originally from Puerto Rico and is happy to be at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where he serves as the Production and Arts Facilities Manager for the new Performing Arts Complex in the Edinburg Campus. He manages the strategic use of resources related to the production, facilities, technology and staff for events and productions at the Performing Arts Complex. He oversees the technical operations for the Complex, including communicating with internal and external production personnel, supervising crew, managing events, and serving as lead technician for the events. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas-Pan American in Communications in Theatre, Television & Film. During his years at UTPA he was actively involved both as an actor and a technician for countless University Theatre Productions.

David Rios

David Rios lives in McAllen, TX with his wife, 3 kids ages 12, 9 and 6, and 3 dogs.  David has an AA in Culinary Arts from South Texas College, BPS in Music Production from Berklee College of Music, and MBA from Southern New Hampshire University with a concentration in Music Business from Berklee.  Currently working as the Reference Supervisor at McAllen Public Library, he owns and operates Musicademy McAllen, which employs 6 private music instructors.  Additionally, he works as a music producer for local bands and artists.  Throughout the past 25 years David has formed and played in several bands, for which I played guitar or bass, selected repertoire, and managed.

Norma A. Salinas

Ms. Salinas manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations for the UTRGV School of Music. She has worked at UTPA, now UTRGV, for the past 25 years.  She earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Bilingual) in 2014, a Minor in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Public Affairs degree with Public Administration Concentration in 2016.
