Academics
Cyber Security and Informatics are the study of science, technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect computers, networks, smart devices, software programs, and data from attack, damage, or unauthorized access. Our programs are collaborative inter-disciplinary programs which follow a holistic approach that integrates technical, legal, business, and policy skills by combining courses from Cyber Security, Informatics, Business, Information Security and Criminal Justice.
Engineering Technology is the application of mathematics, science, and engineering. Our students design systems and conduct experiments to analyze and interpret data. The curriculum uses multidisciplinary approach to focus on economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health, safety, manufacturability, and sustainability. Our students learn techniques and skills involving modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
The department accommodates multiple campuses with HYBRID delivery of classes in Cyber Security and Informatics (Hybrid Mode: Face-to-Face Classes in Brownsville and OSYNC for Others with Exams in Brownsville & Edinburg).
