The Region

The City of McAllen is composed of a population of a little over 141,000, located within minutes of the United States border with Mexico, the city has flourished extensively in the past few years, providing locals with a variety of activities throughout the year and always something to do within the city. Known mainly for its mild winter weather, tropical breeze, and bright hot summers; the City of McAllen has rapidly become a popular spot for major shopping, international travels to Mexico, and a city of choice when ready for a change of pace, as is very family-friendly and one of the fastest-growing cities in America.

McAllen offers various events throughout the year for all to attend, from the yearly Fiesta de Palmas, the Holiday Parade, fireworks display throughout various seasons, varied night-life, and the main venues with major labels and artists always stopping by to provide McAllen locals with amazing performances.

This City constantly makes an effort to bring as much activity and culture to the valley, their arts and culture district is always blooming with new artists to discover as well as local shops, and markets. You can see morning locals engaged in morning activities like road cycling, trail-walking/running, and a growing community of dancing.

The Region

The City of Harlingen is composed of a population of a little over 65,000, located within minutes of the United States border with Mexico and the city of Reynosa, the city is in very close proximity with Brownsville and only 30 miles from the Golf coast. Harlingen is a preferred city due to its relatively low cost of living and expanding local school districts, which extend to stem and art academies.

Exploring the city of Harlingen might include biking along the many city biking and hiking trails, taking a stroll around the City Lake at sunset, visiting the Valley Race Park for some evening fun with simulcast dog and horse races, Visit Valle Vista Mall for shopping and latest trends, practice your form at Tony Butler Municipal Golf Course and practice your tennis or cheer the players at the HEB Tennis Center.

The city is in very close proximity to the beach which allows making a quick trip back and forth to South Padre Island a breeze.

The City of Brownsville is composed of a population of about 182,000, located within minutes of the United States border with Mexico's city of Matamoros, the city includes many historical buildings and an up-and-coming downtown area, encouraging local trendy restaurants and mainly night-life.

Brownsville constantly strives to promote the natural environment and ecological experiences, with places such as the Sabal Pal Sanctuary and the history Rabb planation, Mitte Cultural District, which includes the well known Glady's Porter Zoo, visited annually by locals and schools all around, the Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts, Laureles Ranch House Museum, the Children's Museum of Brownsville as well as many other Sports Parks and event venues.

The Region

South Padre Island is composed of a population of 2,818, a barrier island off the southernmost coast of Texas. South Padre Island is a top destination for many locals, nationals, and international travelers, from those wishing to enjoy a relaxing time at the beach with a family-friendly atmosphere and hitting local restaurants to the younger crowd that wishes to experience the local night-life available at the island.

The island is home to the South Padre Island Dolphin Research & Sealife Nature Center as well as Turtle conservation center, Sea Turtle Inc. that has become a huge community and volunteer spot among the locals to assist the annual migrated lost turtles get rescued and rehabilitated on-site before releasing back into the ocean.

Constantly expanding its tourism and venues for artists to visit the south of Texas, SPI is one of the calmest weather and beautiful sandy beaches in the Gulf area. The locals are most welcoming to visitors and the many resorts available throughout the island, along with a water park for family-friendly activities, definitely assist to provide a great relaxing and unforgettable experience.
