Academic Areas
The College of Health Professions is home to a growing number of schools, programs, and departments for students pursuing careers in health sciences and human services. This institution produces highly-skilled practitioners, educators, researchers, and beyond.
The UTRGV School of Medicine is preparing the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care through groundbreaking, innovative education. Through the MD program, students will gain the hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge they need to advance the field of medicine.
The UTRGV School of Nursing is preparing students to meet the health care needs of a multicultural society by developing skilled practitioners, educators, and leaders who provide holistic care to individuals, families, and communities.
School of Optometry
The UTRGV School of Optometry is scheduled to begin in 2027, pending accreditation.
The UTRGV School of Podiatric Medicine is the first and only podiatric medical school in Texas. Our podiatry school offers students a superior medical education taught by distinguished faculty who are at the forefront of the podiatric profession.
