Master of Science in Health Science, Concentration in Nutrition
APPLY NOW REQUEST INFO GRADUATE COLLEGEThe UTRGV MS in Health Science Concentration in Nutrition online program can help you deepen your knowledge of nutrition and expand your career options. This program was designed for those already working in the field of nutrition and seeking advanced content on common nutritional issues including diabetes, obesity, eating disorders, integrative nutrition and more. Core courses introduce you to the health care system and quality improvement, as well as health care policy and research. Please note, this is not a registered dietitian program.
This program is offered in the accelerated online format which is comprised of seven-week modules where courses are offered online on a rotating carousel basis.
Students can register for one or two courses in each seven-week module and can begin the program in any of the six start dates each calendar year, as specified by the Graduate College Calendar.
Upon completion of the MS Health Science degree with a nutrition concentration, students have the potential to become corporate wellness consultants, health coaches, nutrition/health educators, nutrition/health writers, public health nutritionists, or state health department employees. Other possible job employment fields include: nonprofit organizations, school systems, USDA/government, or gyms/health clubs.
