Advancing Research in Vector-Borne Diseases

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Center for Vector-Borne, Zoonotic, and Emerging Diseases (CVBZED) unites faculty from diverse disciplines to tackle the challenges of vector-borne diseases. Our research focuses on innovative, high-impact studies that address both local and global health concerns.

With multiple grants already funded, we’re excited to launch our Pilot Study Program, supporting creative, high-risk/high-reward research on vectors and vector-borne diseases across the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). We also assist faculty in sharing their findings by providing publication cost support, accelerating the dissemination of critical research.
