Mathematics Gateway Course

Currently Offered: Elementary Statistical Methods MATH 1342.80E Fall 2022

Previously offered: Elementary Statistical Methods MATH 1342 Spring 2022

Instructor: J. Ponce

Course will be taught exclusively in Spanish. B3 Institute (Bilingual, Bicultural, Bi-literate).

Under the NSF grant-funded project, trained faculty will offer students the opportunity to take core “gateway” courses in Mathematics and Biology in a Spanish and/or BILINGUAL instructional format to promote student exploration of fundamental concepts in math and sciences while recognizing the ability to learn in a bilingual modality.

This project will be in concurrence with the B3 Institute of UTRGV, and will offer the possibility of adding a certification to a student’s diploma if they take a certain number of the courses in Spanish within a discipline or degree plan.
