Secondary Bilingual Education Certificate

APPLY NOW ADDITIONAL INFO GRADUATE COLLEGE

How do you teach bilingual learners at the middle and high school level? This 16 hour program develops expertise in working with secondary bilingual education students. Some courses will be taught bilingually or in Spanish.

Most courses in this certificate program are transferrable to the Bilingual Education M.Ed.

¿Cómo les enseñas a estudiantes bilingües de secundaria y prepa? Este estudio secundario desarrolla en ti habilidades para trabajar con estudiantes de educación bilingüe a nivel secundario. Algunos cursos se enseñan en español o en los dos idiomas.

Muchos cursos de este programa de certificación pueden transferirse a la Maestría en Educación Bilingüe.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify, describe, and critique models of bilingual education appropriate to the secondary education setting.
  • Students will be able to apply understandings of second language learning and emergent bilingualism to the secondary education setting.
  • Students will be able to design effective lessons that integrate language learning with content learning.

Please note: this program does not lead to any teaching certification.
