- Please apply to the program by using the Official Graduate College Application Portal, any application material that is not submitted through the Official Graduate College Application Portal will not be considered.

Do I need a Thesis advisor to be admitted on a Thesis track?
- Yes, if you do not have a Thesis advisor please visit our Mentor Catalog and contact a Professor whom you would like to be your advisor.
Do I need an email from my advisor confirming their collaboration in the program?
- Yes, your thesis advisor must email the Program Coordinator, Dr. Yonghong Zhang, confirming their role as an advisor for the BCMB MS program.
Is there any Financial Support for Graduate Studies at UTRGV?
- Yes, however, offers for Financial Aid can be made only after a student is officially accepted into the program by the Graduate College

- Presidential Research Fellowship (PRF)
- The Dean's Graduate Research Award (DGRA)
- BCMB MS Scholarship
- Graduate Teaching Assistantships
- The Home Department of your Thesis Advisor

Do I need a separate application to be considered for Financial Aid?
- No, your application materials to the BCMB MS Program will be used to determine eligibility for PRF, DGRA and BCMB MS Scholarship awards, Financial Aid is awarded on a competitive basis
- Teaching Assistantships must be applied through the departments of the College of Sciences. Contact the Program Coordinator, Dr. Yonghong Zhang, for information regarding applications for Graduate Teaching Assistantships.
- You may also receive financial support via the home department of your Thesis Advisor and/or any grants that they may have. Please contact your Thesis Advisor to explore the funding opportunities that they may have to offer.
