Cross Connections 2024 International Exhibition and Competition of Visual Communication Design and Emerging Media Design
Cross Connections International, an influential design festival since 2009, returns in 2024 for its fourth edition. The Cross Connections 2024 event includes a juried exhibition, a design competition, and a webinar series on design thinking. It is curated by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), the International Museum of Art and Science (IMAS), and the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art (BMFA).
Welcome to the Cross Connections 2018 International Exhibition of Design & Illustration
Cross Connections 2018 International Exhibition of Design & Illustration is a global collaborative project and an invitational exhibition and juried competition. The exhibition was initiated in 2008 and held in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013 in more than ten universities around the world. The exhibition promotes creativity, innovation, and the trends of international visual communication design and aims to inspire and educate through active global engagement.
Wall that Heals 2023
The Wall that Heals exhibit to be on display April 20-23 at UTRGV
A 375-foot-long replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall will be on display at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on April 20-23, 2023.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) recently chose UTRGV as a stop on the 2023 national The Wall that Heals tour that includes the replica wall and a mobile Education Center exhibit that tells the story of the Vietnam War, The Wall and the era surrounding the conflict. The free exhibit is designed to put American experiences in Vietnam in a historical and cultural context.
“The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is honored to have been selected to host this very special exhibit in partnership with the City of Edinburg,” said Dr. Jeffrey Ward, dean of the UTRGV College of Fine Arts, which is presenting the exhibit. “At UTRGV, we honor our service members and veterans, including those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”
The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be on display on the grounds of the Community Engagement and Student Success (CESS) Building, a UTRGV off-campus facility located at 1407 E. Freddy Gonzalez Drive. The Wall and exhibit will be open 24 hours a day to the public.

Apply to honor your veteran, through In Memory, by March 20th and their photo will be included as part of the mobile Education Center display when The Wall That Heals is on display in Edinburg.
