Texas Reskilling Grant
Texas Reskilling Grants are available to assist former undergraduate students who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with their return to complete a degree. In addition to other financial aid, returning students who have been admitted and meet all eligibility criteria will be considered for an award up to $2,500. This grant is to be applied only towards tuition and fees through Fall 2022. Funding is limited.
Students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Texas resident eligible for in-state tuition as determined by the institution;
- Have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
- Have financial need for awards beyond $500;
- Must be eligible for federal Title IV aid;
- Have affirmed they have been affected by COVID-19;
- *Be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate program on either a full-time or part-time basis;
- Have not been enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution in the previous academic (long) semester or previous six months;
*Approved Majors:
- Business and engineering-related degrees, such as accounting, finance, hospitality and tourism, information systems, marketing, computer science, computer engineering, and engineering technology.
- Health-related degrees: addiction studies, clinical laboratory sciences, communication science and disorders, dietetics, nursing, rehabilitation services;
- Education-related degrees, such as interdisciplinary studies
- Social Service-related degrees such as, social work, criminal justice
Texas Reskilling Grant awards will only be used to provide last dollar financial aid and will only be applied towards the student’s tuition and required fees after any state or institutional gift aid the student has received.
