Inventory

The UTRGV Annual Inventory certification serves as a formal process to verify and validate the accuracy of university inventory assets. The purpose of the inventory certification is to ensure that the inventory reported is reliable and reflects the actual quantities and values of assets within the divisions.

Assets Management has two seasons of certifications within the fiscal year. Season one is held in fall and season two begins in the spring. Certification email packets are sent to listed property officers. This person is responsible for submitting a complete and signed certification along with any additional documents.

In summary, inventory certification plays a role in providing financial transparency, supporting decision-making processes, ensuring compliance, and strengthening internal controls.
