Mission

Provide our student artists with the education and tools in the classroom, studios, and in production to allow them to cultivate, refine, and unleash the full range of their creativity and skills to convey their vision and intent to an audience in any media. 

Vision

To engage the young people of the Rio Grande Valley through the unit’s Theatre program and similar activities by not only offering opportunities to perform in productions dedicated to their creative interests and potential career goals but to provide entertainment, education, and enlightenment for local audiences and students.

Summer Camp

The mission of STRIVE (South Texas Remarkably Inventive Vaquero Ensemble) is to build and perpetuate children’s theatre in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas by providing theatre training for children in at least twelve different teaching areas, as follows: improvisation and imagination, language and communication, creative problem solving, mental concentration and memorization, vocal articulation and projection, movement skills, emotional expression, acting in an ensemble, and technical theatre training.

Latino Theatre Initiatives (LTI)

LTI is a transnational, bilingual, and community-responsive group whose shows and methods are reviewed, studied, and discussed in national and international presentations, articles, essays, and books.
