  • What is Alzheimer's Disease?

The primary purpose of the Community Liaison and Recruitment Core is to develop an infrastructure in the Rio Grande Valley that facilitates the recruitment and retention of older Hispanic/Latino adults in social, behavioral, and biomedical Alzheimer’s disease-related research. The Core will also strengthen existing infrastructures for dissemination and translation of research advances impacting the engaged communities with respect to aging, Alzheimer’s disease and related brain disorders, and health of older Hispanics.

The Community Liaison and Recruitment Core

  • Trains and mentors investigators in minority health disparities
  • Builds and strengthens community-academic partnerships
  • Disseminate research findings to the scientific community, health care providers and the South Texas communities served

If you or your organization would like to collaborate or partner with the RGV Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center (AD-RCMAR), please contact Dr. Gladys Maestre.
