The School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences (SEEMS) provides integrative educational and training experiences for students and conducts world-class research while supporting the Rio Grande Valley community. Our three Bachelor of Science and two Master of Science degree programs are adaptive and progressive, fostering student success. SEEMS faculty, staff, and students are distributed across the Brownsville, Edinburg, Port Isabel, and South Padre Island, where they participate in transdisciplinary and transformative research and outreach activities across a broad range of natural and social science specialties.

Earth Fest, hosted by the UTRGV Office of Sustainability
For Earth Fest 2022, the university planted a Sideroxylon celastrinum tree, known as a coma, that is native to the Valley. This small evergreen tree flowers profusely in the spring, attracting pollinators, and does not drop all its leaves in the fall.
