Training & Schedule

Entrepreneurial training is a significant component of the ScaleUp Rio Grande Valley program. The program utilizes the Kauffman FastTrac® GrowthVenture™ curriculum, a 30-hour course with a proven framework, to help established entrepreneurs realize their business’ full potential through sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

The curriculum is presented with expert guidance from certified, Kauffman FastTrac® GrowthVenture™ facilitators. Each class may include up to 15 growth-minded business owners. Participants will also meet with program staff during the training period for targeted assistance.

The Kauffman FastTrac® GrowthVenture™ curriculum includes the following topics.

  • Sizing Up Your Business
  • Exploring Growth Opportunities
  • Making Strategic Decisions
  • Using Financial Tools
  • Seizing the Market
  • Strengthening the Product/Service
  • Managing Operations for Growth
  • Leading the Organization
  • Charting Financial Performance
  • Making it Happen

As participation in all training is integral to success in the program, it is important to review the class schedule to ensure attendance. Training is typically delivered in the Spring and Summer, over the course of 10 to 12 weeks, once a week, from 9 am to 12 pm, at certain locations across the Rio Grande Valley. The training period includes a Program Launch and Graduation. Mid-course adjustments to the schedule may be made due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather or facility issues.

Reasonable arrangements for persons with disabilities will be made, if requested at least two weeks in advance. Assistance for the hearing impaired can be attained by calling the TDD at (956) 665-5071.
