About the UTRGV SBDC
“Building the Texas Economy One Business at a Time”
For over 35 years, the UTRGV Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has provided and continues to offer quality, business advising, training, and market research to existing and prospective business owners in the Rio Grande Valley.
Through its certified and professional business advisors, the Center provides a wide array of management and technical assistance to business owners to strengthen business performance and sustainability.
Business advisors evaluate an existing business's operations or a startup company's business plan with fresh, yet experienced eyes. They work closely with clients to develop these plans and loan proposals. Advisors guide existing and start-up business owners through the business plan process, provide market research, and assist them in compiling the necessary information and documents.
The UTRGV SBDC does not charge for business advising services.
Throughout the year, the UTRGV SBDC also provides relevant, business training. It holds numerous seminars on an incredible array of topics, ranging from existing and pre-venture business planning to marketing, financing, compliance, and management, among other topics. These seminars are designed for existing and new small business owners to acquire the information that they need to make their business more successful.
UTRGV SBDC seminars are offered at no cost or reasonably priced and available in-person, remotely, or through self-paced modules.
