The Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is a safe place supporting our students in or seeking recovery from addictions. We are a supportive community working to provide our students with social, academic, and recovery resources both on campus and in our local communities. We welcome students at any stage of their recovery process and there are no requirements for participating in our services. While the CRP has tremendous support from the UT System, we rely on donors like you to help sustain this life-changing program on the UTRGV campuses. Please consider making a gift today and help us ensure that our student’s time here at UTRGV is one of continued recovery, success, and pride.
Please feel free to contact the CRP for more information.

The CRP is based on the successful practice of peer-to-peer recovery support. We help connect individuals in recovery to support one another outside of a clinical setting. Peer-to-peer recovery support relies on several key components: working a program of recovery, social engagement and service.
We provide a dedicated space for recovery meetings on campus, access to a library of recovery literature, and staff that are knowledgeable about the recovery process to assist our students.
We also provide our students with up-to-date information on local resources to support both their recovery and academic interests.
Our students have an opportunity to socialize or fellowship before, during, and after meetings and support groups held in the CRP space. They also utilize the CRP offices to just drop-in or to have a safe place to study or socialize.
We host a variety of fun and sober events throughout the year including: Recovery Walk-a-thons, movie and popcorn night, Canvassing for Recovery, Tai Chi classes, and even opportunities to attend conferences and events to socialize with students from other collegiate recovery programs around the state and country.
Being of service and giving back to the campus, recovery, and local communities is an important tenant of a recovery lifestyle. The CRP works to provide students with meaningful ways to give back and be of service to their peers and the community.
Please help ensure that this meaningful and life-saving program continues to help generations of Vaqueros to come by considering making a gift to the CRP today. Together we can help our students reach and maintain a life of recovery so that their time here at UTRGV is one of success and pride!
