Infectious diseases are illnesses caused by pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites. These diseases can spread from person to person, through contaminated food or water, or by insect bites. Some examples of infectious diseases are:
- Bacterial diseases
- COVID-19
- Fungal infections
- Hepatitis
- HIV/AIDS
- Influenza (flu)
- Infections associated with cystic fibrosis
- Meningitis
- Mycobacterial infections
- Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
- Tropical diseases (ex. Malaria, Zika, West Nile, etc.)
- Tuberculosis
