John Faust takes part in the recruitment of high school students to become a science major at the university. He explains how these recruitments trips work.
"27 I think to 50 students, they will bus them down to Brownsville to see the research center down there. It's a gravitational wave center, and we will come back up here where the researchers on campus and see some of their stuff."
The geology club posted a video on YouTube featuring Faust, and after that, he was known as the legend all around campus.
"It's sometimes kind of a little embarrassing. When I walked into class this morning, everyone just started clapping."
Faust encourages students who have an interest in physical sciences to join the organizations around campus because they can become a part of the things they are doing.
