- Dr. Val Papanyan
Research Interests: Dr. Val Papanyan is expert on image analysis, pattern recognition, remote measurements and spec-troscopy, including modeling of the optical properties of nanostructured materials. He also designed laser pyro-ignition units for the NASA’s X-38 space return vehicle and conducted advanced data reduction methodologies for the orbital debris detection and size estimation at the Johnson Space Center Orbital Debris Project Office.
