Program Frequently Asked Questions
They are courses that act as prerequisites for the MBA core courses. If you do not possess a business undergrad or earned a "C" in an undergrad equivalent, they are designed to prepare you for the topics in the core courses. The need is determined upon admission and you will be notified when you receive your degree plan. You can receive a waiver for a foundation course if applicable. The three foundation courses are: ACCT 6301, FINA 6303, and QUMT 6303 and you must complete this foundation course before the core, i.e. ACCT 6301 prior to ACCT 6320, FINA 6303 prior to FINA 6340, and QUMT 6303 prior to QUMT 6310.
If you receive a prerequisite error, please send your student ID number, course information including CRN, to Shay.Nelson@utrgv.edu.
If you are receiving a special approval error, please do not try to register for a course ending in "VE". These courses are for our Spanish MBA program
