What to Bring?
We encourage a minimalist approach when creating your packing list. Less is more when packing your items. Consider that all items will be carried by you to your designated room within a time frame.
TIP: There are retail stores located near the university. Consider purchasing your items
locally versus traveling with many items.
- Living: Sheets, pillow, blanket, quilt or comforter, mattress pad, towels, washcloths, sheets.
Mattress size is based on the unit type you have been assigned. Desk lamp/desk organizers /no
halogen bulbs. Bicycle lock (if you bring a bicycle to campus) - Personal Care: Personal toiletries, Shower Caddy & Supplies, Shower Shoes, Insurance Card –
Medical Information, washcloths, toilet paper, Renter’s Insurance (Optional).
Cleaning Supplies: Spray cleaner, trash can, trash liners, small vacuum, air freshener, hand
sanitizer - Laundry: High-efficiency laundry detergent, clothes hamper, hangers, iron/ironing board with
auto shut-off feature - Food: Snacks, reusable water bottle, coffee maker or single serve brewer, cups + mugs,
dishcloths + soap, Mini Fridge/Micro-Fridge (Optional) - Technology: Surge protector (No extension cords), Computers, Laptops, Tablets
Note: Only add essentials to list.
Things to Remember:
- Renters insurance (highly recommended)
- For Move-In day we encourage you to bring a dolly, bungee cords, plastic or tarp (in case of rain) to speed up the check-in process.
Do not bring:
- No animals: Other than fish in a maximum 10-gallon tank
- No open coil heating or cooking devices:
- This includes but not limited to, induction cooking tops, air fryers, or Foreman Grills
- No candles or incense
- No guns, fireworks, paintball markers, crossbows, bows and arrows, water guns or “look alike” gadgets allowed
- No wireless routers
- Avoid large amounts of cash
- No extension cords or multi-plug adapters without surge protectors
- No hoverboards
