Volunteers Around the World in Peru 2019
Our non-governmental organization is dedicated to providing free medication, and medical care to locals in Albania, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Panama, Peru, etc.
This organization will be of great help, as it will not only aid our BMED students to gain necessary skills for their future but those who are in need. The goal is to raise the amount of money needed to cover all expenses and medications that will be taken to a third-world country. This Summer 2019 they visited Peru.

PROMOTING PROFESSIONALISM Workshop
THURSDAY, Nov 30, 2017, Cassia Room - Brownsville campus.
The goal of this workshop is to develop activities and create a positive, professional learning environment that will help students build professionalism. By integrating student professionalism activities students must practice professional behavior during class to prepare for entering the workforce.
Around 60 Biomedical Sciences students attended the third session of the workshop Moving Up/Resilience, called Promoting Professionalism with presenters: Dr. Hugo Rodriguez, Dr. Maria Teresa Castaneda, Dr. Tracia Forman, and Dr. Saras Nair.

Resilience Workshop Session 3 - Moving Up
March 21, 2017 - This workshop promotes BMED students on how to get skills to organize their time when they are in college and get the most out of their experience in the academic year. The organizer, Dr. Castaneda along with the presenters of this session, Dr. Lorena Lopez and Dr. Sue Anne Chew work with our BMED students in this fun and interactive workshop.

First-year composition students in the UTRGV Biomedical Sciences program presented their Visual Argument projects, which are multimodal, mixed media compositions based on their individually designed, semester-long research agendas on biomedical topics and human diseases.
